We grow a lot of fruit and vegetables in our garden and each child at Hayati Homeschool has their own veggie plot, where they can choose what seeds to plant and take responsibility for watering and caring for their crops. We believe that the natural world, in particular the growing and preparing of food, should be a core part of a child’s learning and that in turn the food that children consume is essential to how well they learn. All snacks and meals provided to the
children (and often prepared by the children) will be as close to their natural
state as possible, free from added sugars, artificial sweeteners, preservatives,
colorings and trans-fats and we aim to provide gluten and dairy free meals as
much as possible. Weekly menus are approved by a nutritionist and made available to
parents.
